Valmont Coating Division Honored With Five Excellence In Galvanizing Awards

Omaha, NE /PRNewswire/ - Valmont Industries, Inc. (NYSE: VMI - News), a leading global manufacturer of engineered products for infrastructure, mechanized irrigation equipment for agriculture, and a provider of coating services announced today that Valmont's Coating Division was honored with 5 Awards for Excellence in Hot Dip Galvanizing. The awards competition, sponsored by the American Galvanizing Association, was based on utilization of hot dip galvanizing in an ideal, creative, innovative or monumental fashion. Competition was fierce as there were 120 projects submitted for the 13 award categories.

Valmont Coatings' Calwest Galvanizing facility located in Long Beach, California was recognized in the Recreation & Entertainment Category for its "Los Angeles Zoo's Pachyderm Forest" submission.

The "Viper Aerial Ladders" project in Fremont, NE was recognized in the OEM category, and was submitted by Valmont Coatings' Valley Galvanizing facility in Valley, Nebraska. The Valmont Coatings' galvanizing facility located in Tampa, Florida was recognized with the award in the Duplex System category. The winning project, "New World Center Soundscape," is located in Miami Beach, Florida.

Salina Galvanizing, Valmont's galvanizer in Salina, Kansas, was recognized with two awards. The project "Oil Platform Facility," located in Altamira, Mexico won in the Industrial Category. Also winning for Salina Galvanizing, was its submission for the Bridge and Highway Category, "US 41 Retaining Wall Project" in Fox Valley, Wisconsin.
