Kelly-Moore Paints Continues Its Commitment To Reduce Waste And Increase Recycling In California

90 Kelly-Moore California Stores to Serve as Collection Points for Unwanted Paint for California PaintCare Program

San Carlos, CA--(Marketwire) - In keeping with its commitment to reducing waste, Kelly-Moore Paint Company, Inc., a leader and innovator of waterborne-coating technology and the first major paint company to offer recycled paints, announces its California stores will serve as collection points for old and unwanted paints, regardless of brand.

As part of the California PaintCare Program, Kelly-Moore will accept up to 20 gallons of unwanted paint at a time, in an effort to reduce paint waste and increase paint recycling in California. On Friday, October 19, 2012 (the same date the program went into effect), 90 Kelly-Moore Paint stores in California started accepting unwanted paint from customers.* The paint can be any brand, not just Kelly-Moore.

"Having Kelly-Moore's stores in California serve as collection points for unwanted paint shows our continued commitment to greener communities," said Robert Stetson, Director of Risk Management. "We have recycled our own paints with our eCoat line for years. Making it easy for consumers to recycle paint regardless of who manufactured it benefits everyone."

The California PaintCare Program is managed by PaintCare, Inc., a nonprofit organization established by the American Coatings Association. Customers with unwanted paint -- including trade painters, contractors and other businesses -- will be assured the paint is recycled or properly disposed of (if it is no longer recyclable) at state-authorized facilities.
