Purecoat International, LLCelectroless nickel-boron plating process can be plated onto a part as-is, eliminating the need for additional machining processes. This composite of electroless nickel boron and thalium adheres very well to steel and nickel alloys, aluminum, cobalt alloys, titanium and bronze, according to the manufacturer. It can be thrown uniformly through the use of an immersion process that plates even complex geometries uniformly. Because the plating is done in a high pH bath, NiBron does not suffer from the embrittlement caused by hydrogen. In fact, the material passes the ASTM F519 for Hydrogen Embrittlement standard.
