Micro Tuff, according to its manufacturer, is a process used to enhance the properties of metallic surfaces. It is designed for excellent performance in high corrosion and wear applications. Micro Tuff is a long-chain, highly cross-linked polymer with an organic penetrating agent that is provided in bar form. The coating is used to impregnate metallic substrates and coatings, providing a homogeneous and dense alloy of bonded polymer. In addition, the material polymerizes during application.

Micro Tuff was originally developed for hard chromium deposits but is also used on electroless nickel, Stavex, Remax, stainless steel, thermal spray, copper and its alloys, aluminum and plain steel. It is very smooth to reduce friction and is non-wettable.
