Nickelizing coating can be uniformly applied in either a satin or high gloss finish to almost any material
Armoloy of Illinois, Inc. coating can be uniformly applied in either a satin or high gloss finish to almost any material. According to the manufacturer, it provides 35 to 50% better adhesion characteristics than conventional coating methods.

Unlike electroplating, which deposits a coating of varying thickness depending upon current density, this product maintains a true nickel-phosphorous alloy coating. The manufacturer states that it sustains the specified thickness on all surfaces inside and outside of a part, as well as on flat or curved sides and in sharp edges and corners, with tolerances held exact.

In addition, the manufacturer states that this product provides an exceptionally hard and corrosion-resistant surface to any part made from ferrous metals, aluminum or copper alloys due to its tight, fine-grained structure. It ranges from 48 to 52 Rc and is heat-treatable to a hardness of 65 Rc or greater. The coatings are also said to have exceptional abrasion and wear resistance when lubrication is used and the operating surface temperature stays below 600°F(316°C). They can also reduce friction by providing stressed surfaces with controlled hardness and thickness without high, low or rough spots, distributing wear evenly over the entire stressed surface.
