Sealmet is a ready-to-use, water-based, paintable coating for stainless, alloy, carbon, and low-alloy steels
Sealmet is a ready-to-use, water-based, paintable coating for stainless, alloy, carbon, and low-alloy steels. The coating is designed to provide extended reduction in surface oxidation and protection from chemical attack with a dense, fused, electrically insulating layer of high hardness and advanced adherence during thermal cycles.

This refractory, electrically insulating coating applies like house-paint and allows a thin layer (2 to 6 mils) to form an bond-coat on metals when heated to 1300°C (2400°F). As a result, oxidation and high temperature chemical attack of metals can be controlled.

The coating has a curing temperature of 350°C (660°F) or higher, has a shelf life of over one year, and is available to consumers in black.
