The Mitchell-Bate Company (MB)lad custom designed, custom built plating rack is designed to reduce plastisol stripping, waste treatment costs, and energy consumption. The plating rack system is comprised of a mainframe or spline that combines the current-carrying capability of copper with the chemical resistance of type 316 stainless steel. The framework is shielded by CPVC tubing, a patented design that prevents deposition on the proprietary stainless-clad copper.

According to the manufacturer, the rack system reduces annual maintenance costs up to 80% by restricting the use of plastisol components to crossmembers and workstations. In addition, the system's removable workstations and fully adjustable mainframe allows in-house adaptation to a variety of work, reducing the need for large inventories of expensive dedicated racks.

The rack also features a self-cooling feature and improved current-carrying capability than that of presently used standard plastisol racks. The manufacturer states that these combined features can result in a 25% reduction in energy costs.
