Combined with a profiled, elevated temperature oven, the SCS Series PM2000 offers both spray coating and in-line drying for a complete precision coating process. The precision spray coating systems are well suited for applying coatings such as photoresists, polyimides, dopants, slurries, and metallo-organics to metal, metallized or non-metallized glass and ceramic substrates, as well as silicon wafers.

The systems are equipped with an 18-in. wide, disposable paper conveyor that provides left-to-right product flow. Other types of conveyors, such as double-track conveyors, combinations of wire mesh, and solid web conveyors are optional.

Typical coating parameters for photoresists and polyimides are dry film thicknesses from 1.2 to 20µ, depending upon type and viscosity. Metallo-organic coatings can be applied as thinly as 850 Angstroms.

The coating material is applied to substrates by a reciprocation spray nozzle, which provides a wide fan pattern at a low coating material output. An optional metering pump enhances thickness repeatability from batch-to-batch. The system is equipped with a manually selected solvent flush feature to clean coating material from the coating line and internal passages of the spray nozzle after the coating cycle has been completed.

These systems meet National Electrical Code requirements for hazardous location (Class 1, Division 1, Articles 500 and 501), and complies with all applicable National Electrical and Fire Protection Association regulations.
