E-Coat single-component anodic or cathodic compliant finishes can be used for general industrial finishing, wire products, and automotive component parts. It can be used on any metal surface including clean steel, phosphated steel, or phosphated steel with chrome sealer.

Physical characteristics include VOC as supplied, 0–3.0; dry film thickness, 0.1–1.2 mils, gloss range from flat to full, and flashpoint of 100°F+.

Applied by electrocoating, the finish cures by baking. Among its performance characteristics are resistance to salt spray up to 1,500 hrs and humidity up to 1,500 hrs. It has superior chemical resistance, adhesion to steel, and flexibility. It also maintains excellent recoatability and has a shelf life of six months or more. It also is both lead- and chrome-free.

In cathodic versions, E-Coat comes in black and gray; in anodic versions, it's available in any color. The coating is packaged in totes, drums, or 5-gal pails.
