The Dacromet line of coatings are water-based coating dispersions that contain metal oxides, metallic zinc, and aluminum flakes. It is applied as a liquid and develops into an inorganic coating once cured at 610°F. The overlapping zinc and aluminum flakes provide barrier protection, and the high concentration of metallic flakes in the coating's composition make the product electrically conductive.

Metal oxides help slow down the zinc and steel reactions while the zinc oxides and carbonates work together to fill any damaged areas on the coating surface. The coatings are not susceptible to hydrogen embrittlement due to the absence of acids or electrolysis in the coating process. Also ideal as a paint base, these coatings can be applied in thicknesses to 0.2-0.3 mils or 0.2-5.0 mils.
