Conversion Coating Process

Bonderite ZM-1 is a new polycrystalline zinc-manganese conversion coating process that is free of nickel and cobalt. This patented single-package product is internally accelerated and is designed to provide the performance of traditional zinc phosphates along with the benefits associated with the removal of regulated heavy metals.

The manufacturer states that this process can eliminate the need of separate feeding of the accelerator because it is internally accelerated, resulting in increased consistency. The process offers multi-metal capability and provides uniform coatings in a variety of paint systems.
