SUR/FIN 2000: Hex and Non-hex Chromate Finishes

Source: MacDermid Incorporated
The JS 2000 topcoat system offers superior corrosion resistance in hexavalent and non-hexavalent chromate finishes
MacDermid Incorporated topcoat system offers superior corrosion resistance in hexavalent and non-hexavalent chromate finishes. Originally developed for Harley Davidson motorcycles, MacDermid Incorporated system provides increased corrosion protection over chromated zinc and zinc alloy substrates. According to its manufacturer, the topcoat system works at a better temperature rate than typical chromate and takes more than 300 hours to show white corrosion.

In addition, when using the system, the finisher can see whether a part has previously been treated with the use of UV inhibitors. This eliminates the potential for coating errors and other mishaps due to lack of information on prior treatment of the parts. Yellow in color, MacDermid Incorporated topcoat system is capable of meeting GMW 3044 requirements.
