Venture Construction Group Of Florida Wins First Place Coatings Pro Contractor Award

Leading construction company staffer named Most Valuable Player in Construction

Boca Raton, FL (PRWEB) - Venture Construction Group of Florida (VCGFL) was awarded the prestigious CoatingsPro Contractor Award. VCGFL Product Manager Neysa Nordstorm won first place in the Most Valuable Player (MVP) category for CoatingsPro Magazine’s second annual Contractor Awards Program. The program showcases and recognizes the leading nationwide construction and restoration projects and crews that demonstrate excellence in high-performance coatings.

With over 20 years of experience, VCGFL staff and crews lead the industry in best practices, technology, innovation, and customer service.

“We are truly honored to win the CoatingsPro Contractor Award! Our MVP Neysa Nordstorm has an exemplary level of professionalism and attention to detail that truly shines. Neysa is a valuable member of our team and her commitment to customer service and industry knowledge and latest trends is outstanding. We are excited that Neysa won this award, up against contractors throughout the nation! Neysa is an excellent Production Manager, has a strong attention to detail and is able to multi-task like no other. Neysa contributes greatly to our project success, manages and implements safety protocols, and really goes the extra mile to help our customers,” says Stephen Shanton, president and CEO, Venture Construction Group of Florida.

Numerous project and individual submissions from construction and restoration companies throughout the nation were judged and rated by the CoatingsPro Editorial Advisory Group, comprised of leading industry experts. The MVP Award was presented to VCGFL Production Manager Neysa Nordstrom during the awards ceremony on April 18 at NACE International’s annual Conference and Expo in Phoenix, Arizona. The CoatingsPro MVP Award honors exemplary team contributions, safety performance, and communication practices.

The winning project submitted by VCGFL entailed a commercial reroof at Piper’s Landing Yacht and Country Club in Palm City, Florida. A hail and wind storm on April 27, 2015 caused severe hail damage to the roofs. Damages included cracks in the tiles, impact damage to underlayment/sheathing, and extreme leaks. The commercial property owner’s insurance claim was initially denied and went into appraisal status, delaying repairs. Heavy Florida weather and rain caused further damage to the roofing systems which resulted in further deterioration and structural leaks. Pipers Yacht and Country Club is a private, tropical retreat along the St. Lucie River. The area includes 302 homes, championship golf course, many residents, visitors, boaters and golfers there to enjoy the 600 acres of natural preserve areas and secluded waterfront with premier waterway access. Pipers Landing aims to provide its residents a concierge lifestyle with country club amenities and elegance akin to 5-star resorts.

VCGFL was brought in to do 3rd party consulting and provided a full scope property inspection including a 4K/ HD Drone Mapping Inspection to assess whether damage was present. Drone inspections provide high level accuracy and scope of repairs, as well as accurate high definition photos for documentation required in insurance restoration. Drone mapping provides important close-ups, aerial overview footage of the entire structure, and allows the team to see multiple, dynamic views of the structure. After damage was found and the insurance claim was approved, VCGFL was hired to complete the reroof of 31,000 square feet of flat and tile roofing systems. VCGFL utilized TPO coating to help the club save on energy costs and ensure a long-life roofing system that can withstand Florida weather for years to come. TPO reflects the heat well in Florida sun and saves on energy costs. Nordstrom managed the client communications, production schedule, and safety initiatives throughout the 7-month process. Due to numerous visitors and residents onsite in a high traffic, luxury setting, attention to detail, safety, and minimal interruption were crucial aspects of the project. Nordstorm managed safety initiatives and programs, client and resident communications, and project plans and protocols. VCGFL is OSHA 30 Certified and has a detailed Safety Plan in place for every project.

“It was very rewarding to help the commercial property owner navigate the insurance claim process and get the restoration work they so greatly needed and utilize our expertise to help them. We all worked really diligently to minimize interruption to the visitors and residents here throughout the entire project and of course, safety is always number one. It’s fantastic to see the beautiful finished product in this private, tropical retreat being used and enjoyed by everyone in the neighborhood. A Venture client was married at the clubhouse shortly after the project was complete, it was exciting!” says Neysa Nordstorm, Production Manager at Venture Construction Group of Florida.
