Non-Chrome Conversion Coatings for Aluminum Substrates

Henkel Surface Technologies 2000 can be applied using either spray or immersion techniques and is operated in an eight- to 10-stage system. Alodine 5200 can be applied in much the same way as Alodine 2000 but it runs in a four- to eight-stage system. Both coatings offer exceptional paint adhesion and corrosion protection when used with a wide variety of paints. In addition, the coating weights of both systems can be measured using Portaspec. Alodine 5200 operates at a low-temperature range of 80°F to 100°F and yields a visible coating. According to the manufacturer, both coatings systems provide an ideal alternative to chromate conversion coatings.
