Designed specifically for the high tolerances of PWB plating applications, the HBS Automated Hoist System features advanced laser and encoder positioning combined with precision drive mechanisms to achieve accuracy within 0.001-in. The manufacturer states that acceleration and deceleration profiles are optimized, resulting in high throughput, no rack sway, and extended machine life. The hoist is suitable for load sizes up to 5000 lb and spans up to 20-ft.

The hoist's streamlined structure design can reduce housekeeping and the possibility of process contamination. In addition, the machine's overhead drive rail and hoist drives increase safety, reducing the possibility of operator injury and machine component corrosion.

The hoist is available with an optional enclosure that can virtually seal the system from outside contaminants. The enclosure can be added without requiring additional floor space, and use of the enclosure can provide a processing environment that meets Class 1000 levels.

PWB plating options include:

  • Pulse plating: fully programmable with improved throwing power.
  • Automated drip tray: can reduce dragout.
  • "Electro Shield": offers protection for high current density over-plating.
  • Submersible anode bars: can reduce maintenance and improve performance.
  • Wet cathode saddles: can increase contact efficiency, improve performance, and reduce maintenance.
