Aztec Manufacturing Co. (Crowley, TX), a manufacturer of specialty electrical equipment and components for the power generation, transmission and distribution markets as well as a leading hot dip galvanizing process supplier, has changed its name to AZZ, Inc. The name change was approved overwhelmingly by the company's shareholders and is effective immediately. Their stock will still be traded on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker symbol "AZZ."

The name change is the result of the company's transformation over the last 10 years to a diversified supplier of electrical equipment and components, and galvanizing services. "We believe the new name, AZZ Incorporated, will enable us to effectively cross-leverage our marketing opportunities through the use of a common name and a clear, new image," said David H. Dingus, president and chief operating officer of AZZ, Inc.

AZZ's Galvanizing business operates 10 galvanizing plants in the south and southwest regions of the United States, allowing the company to coordinate large jobs or to handle small loads at a single facility. Its GalvXtra hot dip technology is a nickel-zinc alloy process that is ideal for highly reactive steel.
