This company's new Bristle Discs measuring 4.5-in. are designed to provide fast and cost-effective coatings removal, weld preparation, and general maintenance cleaning in the heavy machinery, transportation equipment, and metal fabrication industries. The bristle discs provide surface scuffing before painting; cleaning and surface preparation before and after welding; adhesive, paint, and other coatings removal; and stain, heavy oxide, and surface contaminant removal from metal parts.

Designed for use on electric or pneumatic right angle grinders, the discs offer patented abrasive-filled bristles that apply a continuous, fresh supply of the manufacturer's sharp Regalite mineral to the workpiece. The manufacturer states that the uniform concentration of the mineral can provide a higher cut rate than wire brushes for a faster, more uniform finish. In addition, the discs resist loading with coatings, dirt, and debris to offer more consistent performance and longer life, and their bristle pattern can resist excessive edge wear to help extend performance. The flexible bristles conform to parts and clean without removing base material, which reduces both damage and rework in many applications.

Because the discs run cooler, they resist heat buildup, reducing the potential to temper or damage to work surface. They also can promote safety in the workplace because the bristles mount securely to the backing, which can eliminate airborne wires that are common with traditional wire brushes.

The tool's integral threaded core spins quickly onto 0.625- to 11-in. threaded shafts. IN addition they are available in 50, 80, and 120 grits, and are color-coded by abrasive grade.
