Commercial Metals Company announced the acquisition of substantially all the operating assets of Suncoast Steel Corporation of Naples, Florida. The purchase was effective December 14.

Suncoast Steel is a rebar fabricator strategically located to serve the metropolitan Tampa Bay and Miami markets. The operation will become part of the CMC Steel Group, a family of companies in CMC's Manufacturing segment. Byrd will continue to serve as President and General Manager of Suncoast and will assist in expanding the CMC Steel Group's fabricating capabilities. Mr. Byrd commented, "We look forward to continuing to serve our existing customer base and, with the financial resources and talented employees of the CMC Steel Group, grow Suncoast's market."
