Environmentally Friendly Stainless Steel Shot

Chronital stainless steel shot offers rustproof surface finishing in an environmentally friendly package. The spherical blasting media is made of carbon, chromium, nickel, silicon, and manganese and offers a hardness of 300 HV on delivery or 450 HV as an operating mix. Used for cleaning, deburring, and surface finishing and improvement, the shot has also been used in such applications as castings and welded structures made from stainless steel.

The shot is said to offer shorter blasting and peening times, brighter appearance, and a rust-free surface. Additionally, the manufacturer states that it doesn't wear out blast cleaning equipment.

The media is also available as Chronital 13, which is a stainless steel shot that contains 3% more nickel than the Chronital product, allowing it to remain non-magnetic even after mechanical stress. In addition, Chronital 13 can be applied in blast cleaning equipment if it is equipped with a magnetic separator.
