Environmentally Safe Metal Surface Preparation

Picklex is an environmentally safe metal surface preparation and pre-treatment product designed for use prior to painting, welding, electroplating, powder coating and anodizing.

According to the manufacturer, one step pickling and de-scaling after the heat treatment process eliminates the use of hazardous and toxic chemicals and waste disposal problems from the metal surface preparation process (ferrous and non-ferrous). This product is non-toxic, non-hazardous and non-flammable. It can perform the cleaning, rust conversion, and conditioning of a metal surface and provide a protective coating in a one step dipping process (or spraying process for cold rolled metal).

The manufacturer states that, after applying the product, a surface is ready for painting, e-coat welding, electroplating, anodizing and powder coating. It can also be used for pickling and de-scaling after annealing or other heat treatment processes.
