EP547 and FL559 epoxyphenolic lacquers are designed for the inside and outside coating of tin cans as well as tinplate caps for glass containers
EP547 and FL559 epoxyphenolic lacquers are designed for the inside and outside coating of tin cans as well as tinplate caps for glass containers. Exhibiting a homogeneous transparent dark yellow to reddish-brown color before application, the lacquers dry to a homogeneous gold-colored glossy coating without mechanical inclusions.
The relative viscosity at 20.0+0.5°C by a viscometer with a nozzle diameter of 4.000+0.15-mm ranges from 100c to 104c for EP547, and 80c to 130c for the FL559 lacquer. The Nonvolatile fraction of total mass is 40% to 45% for FL559, and 38% to 40% for EP547. In addition, the lacquers exhibit a tensile strength of 7.00-mm and exceptional stamping strength. Finally, the coating adhesion prior to and after sterilizing is -11 and its resistance to sterilization at 120+2°C is ≤1% when exposed to distilled water, 3% sodium chloride solution, 2% tartaric acid solution, and 3% acetic acid solution.
