Esterline Broadens Aerospace Finishing Capabilities with Acquisition of Surftech

Esterline Technologies (Bellevue, WA), a designer, manufacturer and marketer of engineered products and systems, has broadened its finishing capabilities with the acquisition of Kent, WA-based Surftech Finishes. The asset purchasing agreement has just been finalized.

Esterline's Kent-WA-based subsidiary, Hytek Finishes, provides metal finishing and inspection services that include plating, anodizing, polishing, nondestructive testing and organic coatings on most types of substrates. Surftech will bring its quick—turn aluminum finishing capabilities to the fold.

As one of Boeing's major suppliers, the combination of Hytek and Surftech offers such services as shot peening to 20-ft lengths, hard anodizing, non-destructive testing and inspection services. While Hytek and Surftech service other industries, aerospace is their primary market.
