CPVC SDR 11 FlowGuard Gold Pipe and Fittings
SCOPE:
This specification covers requirements, test methods, and methods of marking for CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) plastic hot- and cold-water distribution system components made in one standard dimension ratio and intended for water service up to and including 180° F. The components covered by this specification are intended for use in residential and commercial, hot and cold potable-water distribution systems.

CPVC MATERIALS:
Rigid CPVC (chlorinated polyvinyl chloride) compounds used in the manufacture of CPVC 4120 SDR 11 shall be type IV grade I (Cell Class 23447-B) as identified in ASTM D 1784. The product shall be light tan in color, and contain the specific amounts of pigments, stabilizers, and other additives approved by NSF for the conveyance of potable water.

DIMENSIONS:
CPVC SDR 11 shall meet the requirements of ASTM D 2846 for physical dimensions and tolerances. The tubing has the same outside diameter as copper tubing, made in sizes 1/2" through 2" nominal diameters. All diameters are pressure rated 400 PSI at 73° F and 100 PSI at 180° F.

MARKING:
The marking on CPVC SDR 11 FlowGuard Gold ® shall meet the requirements of ASTM D 2846. A code number shall be included on the pipe, tubing, and fittings that can be used to identify the manufacturer, the compound, and the date of manufacture.
