GaSonics Completes Executive Management Team With New CFO

Company Adds to High-level Management With Corporate Finance Veteran Rammy Rasmussen

GaSonics International, a leading global supplier of Integrated Clean solutions, announced that it has recruited Rammy Rasmussen, former chief financial officer for Vadem, Fujitsu Microelectronics and Exponent, Inc., to serve as vice president, chief financial officer (CFO).

Reporting directly to GaSonics President and CEO Asuri Raghavan, Rasmussen will drive all financial components of the company's corporate business strategy and further strengthen GaSonics' lead position in Integrated Clean, which encompasses both the photoresist and residue removal markets.

"Our corporate executive team is now fully assembled and well positioned to meet the current industry ramp," said Raghavan. "Rammy has a proven track record managing corporate financial planning and reporting, as well as developing innovative programs to grow companies. He will play a pivotal role in implementing GaSonics' corporate strategy and enhancing our continued expansion in the Integrated Clean marketplace."

Rasmussen is the most recent executive addition since Jerry Cutini from OnTrak Systems, Inc. (San Jose) -- a wholly owned subsidiary of Lam Research Corp. (Fremont, Calif.) -- who serves as GaSonics' senior vice president of marketing and business development. Prior to Cutini's hire in November 1999, John Villadsen, joined GaSonics in September 1999 from Watkins-Johnson Co. (Scotts Valley, Calif.) to serve as vice president of manufacturing operations, along with Graham W. Hills, Ph.D., who was recruited from Lam Research in June 1999 to serve as vice president and chief technical officer.

Prior to GaSonics, Rasmussen served as CFO of Vadem, a privately held company that manufactures and sells mobile appliances, power management semiconductors, handwriting software and Internet services. Before Vadem, Rasmussen acted as Fujitsu Microelectronics' CFO, a position he held for nearly three years where he improved decision making, contract management, business performance and employee retention. As CFO for Exponent, Inc. Rasmussen restructured the company's finance and accounting organizations, established a financial planning and analysis protocols and negotiated a new banking relationship that improved services and overall banking costs including a $10 million line of credit.

Rasmussen graduated with a master's in business administration from University of Southern California (Los Angeles), where he specialized in finance, and earned a bachelor's degree from Stanford University (Palo Alto, Calif.) in Asian studies. Rasmussen also served as First Lieutenant in the United States Army.
