Industrial Finishing Organizations Collaborate On COATING 2005 Conference & Trade Show
ALEXANDRIA, VA - COATING 2005, to be held September 19-22, at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, will offer programming and exhibitors spanning all aspects of industrial finishing. The technologies for powder coating, liquid coating, coil coating, electrocoating, radiation curing, porcelain enameling, electroplating, and vacuum coating will all be represented in the four days and seventy hours of the conference program. Included in the conference is a session on powder coating aluminum extrusions. More than 150 exhibitors of coating materials, application equipment, and related products and services for all the finishing technologies will be represented on the show floor during the three-day trade show.
"This will be an excellent opportunity for anyone involved in the application of industrial coatings to learn about all coating technologies - for finishing decision makers and end users in the architectural, appliance, automotive, and lawn and garden markets, among others," said Greg Bocchi, Executive Director of The Powder Coating Institute, creators and co-sponsors of the show. "The co-sponsoring associations have made a commitment to work together and offer another outstanding event for the coating community."
Introduced in 1999 and running in odd-numbered years, this year's COATING show will implement some changes aimed at providing a more productive as well as entertaining event. In response to attendees of past shows who have asked for more time on the show floor that doesn't conflict with conference sessions, COATING 2005 will feature an entire afternoon where exhibits will be open and conferences will not be running simultaneously. Conversely, the conference will now begin on Monday afternoon, the day before the show opens.
Other new features for COATING 2005 include 15-minute infomercial presentations that exhibitors can purchase and conduct in a special area of the show floor, and the "Garage," a product showcase where a variety of finished products will be displayed.
In addition to The Powder Coating Institute, the other co-sponsoring associations are Chemical Coaters Association International, The Electrocoat Association, Metal Finishing Suppliers Association, National Paint & Coating Association, National Association of Metal Finishers, Porcelain Enamel Institute, RadTech International, and the Society of Vacuum Coaters. Supporting sponsors of the event this year are The Society of Manufacturing Engineers, and the Industrial Heating Equipment Association and their Infrared Equipment Division.
Full conference registration, which offers admission to any of the conference presentations, admission to the exhibit, luncheons, and participation in one of the plant tours conducted at the close of the show, is $525 before August 26th. One-day conference registration is $300 before August 26th, and exhibit-only registration is $20 before August 26th. More information on COATING 2005, including show registration forms, hotel and airline information, and a list of exhibitors and the full conference program, is at www.thecoatingshow.com.
"This is the only opportunity all year for industrial finishers to come together and see and learn about the latest in finishing technology," said Bocchi. "And the changes we have implemented for 2005 promise to bring to show attendees the best all-encompassing coating event ever."
