This company supplies two lapping compounds — lapping pastes and lapping slurries — that contain virgin materials, abrasives, and chemicals for a consistent finish.

The lapping pastes are manufactured by combining graded abrasives with a specially developed vehicle of a cream-like consistency. This vehicle is said to uniformly disperse the abrasive, to permanently suspend it to eliminate settling out, and to reduce rapidly to a smooth thin film when subjected to the slightest frictional heat.

The formulation for these pastes is non-toxic and non-corrosive to metals and can prevent rusting of steels. Because it resists breakdown by heat, the vehicle can also prevent "galling" or "geizing" during severe or high precision lapping operations. In special applications, thinning may be necessary — oils such as lard, olive, or light mineral are compatible with this vehicle.

The company's lapping slurries are available in ready to use concentrations or as highly concentrated mixtures that must be diluted before being placed on the lapping surface through the use of a dual pump metering system. The spent lapping compound (effluent) is non- suspending, which allows for easy isolation of solids and liquids for disposal. All ingredients are non-hazardous.

According to the manufacturer, the lapping compounds are compatible with most lapping machinery in use and can be formulated using virtually any grit size and type of abrasive. They are suitable for both water- and oil-based applications.
