MKS Offers Custom-Built, Large Vacuum Chambers

p>Available in Aluminum for Solar, High Energy Physics, Industrial Coating

MKS Instruments, Inc., a global provider of technologies that enable advanced processes and improve productivity, now offers custom-built, large vacuum chambers for solar, high energy physics and industrial coating applications. Combining vacuum know-how with reliable design capabilities, MKS provides regular customer design reviews, manufacturing options for cost reduction, as well as a kit option that includes instrumentation and valves.

MKS design engineers, with 67 years in combined vacuum chamber design experience, take concepts to full 3D models using AutoDesk Inventor. The vacuum chambers are available as cylindrical chambers of up to 96" long and 60" in diameter and as rectangular chambers up to 160" x 120" x 120". The chambers can be fabricated in a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, Hastelloy and Inconel.

MKS engineers meet with customers on a regular basis to review designs, provide continuous support, and discuss project timelines and interference issues. During design reviews, engineers can often identify alternative suggestions for manufacturing to reduce costs. MKS can supply the chamber as a kit, including instrumentation, valves and heaters. Leak test reports and special surface treatment, such as electropolishing, are also available.
