The solid-state control features a replaceable Type J thermocouple. According to the manufacturer, if the sensor wire becomes damaged, users just have to unscrew it from the back and insert a new wire rather than replacing the whole control.
The control comes with up-scale break protection—in the event the thermocouple should break, the control will go up-scale and shut off automatically.
