Nu-Matic, incorporated in 1948, invented and held the patent on air-inflated back-up wheels used in grinding and finishing operations. Today, these wheels are an industry standard for metal working. The straight-line finish, with no danger of edge-cuts or gouging, provides an ideal method for finishing all metal types when appearance is important.

Nu-Matic carries the world's largest assortment of different size air-inflated back-up wheels. Many wheels have been developed to exactly suit specific applications. Flexcore wheels were introduced in the 80's as a low-cost, easy to use complement to the original line.

While the air-inflated line shines in the metal working and finishing industries, the Flexcore line has found widespread acceptance in stone and marble work.

Nu-Matic wheels also perform beautifully on wood. Popular models include 7" and 9" long wheels. Superior to canvas covered wheels, these are constructed of a heavier rubber-much tougher to gouge.

All wheels are made of 65 durometer natural rubber and have machined aluminum cores. Replacement parts are stocked for immediate delivery. The ease and speed of repair create a competitive advantage for Nu-Matic wheels.

Superior customer service is a Nu-Matic hallmark. Indeed, the company is one of the few remaining firms that can custom machine an arbor and ship within 48 hours.

Nu-Matic has aggressively pursued developing tool systems that bring out the optimal performance of it wheels. A Detailer System, used for brightwork and creating mirror finishes was introduced in 1998. This system lends itself to large areas of material that require mirror-like finishes: airplanes, boats, trucks and tanks.

The Long Arm Buffer, a larger finishing tool with a motor inside a large air-inflated wheel, was designed for use in industrial finishing operations. In 2000, the company introduced a new system incorporating a rolling pin configuration-called the Straight-Line Finisher.
