The newest addition to our product line is Asahi/America's new ProVent natural polypropylene extruded ductwork. This ductwork represents an excellent alternative in applications that previously used either PVC, FRP, or exotic metal alloy ductwork. Polypropylene exhibits excellent chemical resistance to most strong and weak acids, alkalis, organic solvents, and aggressive gases. ProVent is a totally homogeneous product, eliminating the risk of delamination, corrosion, and/or pitting, which can occur with FRP or metal systems. ProVent will maintain its mechanical properties without becoming brittle down to 0oF and can be used in systems operating to a maximum temperature of 200oF. Because of polypropylene's light weight, installation is easy and cost effective. A B Plastics, Inc. presently stocks ProVent in standard sizes from 8" through 24", however, the duct is available in sizes ranging from 4" dia. up through 54" dia. to cover all types of installations. As with our PVC duct, A B Plastics, Inc. can provide all types of duct fittings and accessories manufactured from ProVent to form a complete system, including installation.
