Pulse Power Supplies
The pulsation allows the surface to recover from the momentary high current heating effects and thus keeps the surface temperature lower. The pulsed current occurs many times a second, enabling the coating to form uniformly and quickly, even over high current density areas such as corners. Pulse power supply increases the production with increased current density from peak current pulsation. It has automatic controls with built in variable ramp and ampere-hour meter for repetitive coatings. This unit does not require any change in electrolyte, and can minimize the amount of tank refrigeration. According to the manufacturer, these power supplies are useful well suited for hard anodizing and hard chrome plating applications.
This pulse power supply can be supplied up to 12,000 at peak current, and up to 125 V DC.
