Sika Roofing Announces New Liquid Flashing Product
Liquid Flashing will help roofing contractors provide a better flashing detail in difficult situations.
Canton, MA (PRWEB) - Sika, the worldwide market leader in thermoplastic roofing and waterproofing membranes, is pleased to announce the release of Liquid Flashing, a reinforced resinous flashing product for difficult and uniquely shaped thermoplastic roofing penetrations.
Liquid Flashing is a white, two-component polymethyl methacrylate-based (PMMA) material for use on Sarnafil® and Sikaplan® roofing details. The product is perfect for detailing unusual shaped penetrations – such as I-beams, angle irons and pipe clusters – that would normally need to be flashed with maintenance-prone sealant pockets.
“Liquid Flashing will help roofing contractors provide the building owner with a better flashing detail in difficult situations,” said Jay W. Thomas, Vice President of Marketing for Sika Roofing. “The importance of good roofing details to the overall performance of a roofing system cannot be understated, and this new product will help contractors deliver a better finished product.”
The product will be offered in two grades – Liquid Flashing SW (summer-grade white) and Liquid Flashing WW (winter-grade white). Key benefits of Liquid Flashing are that it cures quickly after mixing to provide maximum protection, it is rainproof in 45 minutes and it can be recoated in just one hour. In addition, the product works on metals, masonry, wood, plastics, concrete and glass, along with all Sika membranes. It’s also eligible for inclusion in Sika’s System Warranty up to 20 years.
