ResinTech supplies ion exchange resins for water and wastewater treatment, including deionization, metals removal, resource recovery and pollution control
ResinTech Inc.upplies ion exchange resins for water and wastewater treatment, including deionization, metals removal, resource recovery and pollution control. For the metal finishing industry, the company's chelating resins for selective metals operate at a low pH so baths can be really cleaned at the same time metals are being removed. The typical ion exchange process using these resins regenerates chemicals requires roughly 100 gallons of water per cubic foot of resin.

The aforementioned chelating resin is the specialty-grade SIR 300, which is capable of removing copper when calcium and magnesium are present. It exhibits a water retention ranging from 55-60% and a total exchange capacity of 1.0 kg/ft3. Maximum operating temperature is 212°F. This resin is ideal for copper removal applications that require fast throughput. Other available resins, such as the CG8, also remove copper but do so at a slower rate because they also remove hardeners such as calcium and magnesium at the same time.

The strong acid gel, cation resin, CG8, however, does have its place. It is also capable of removing copper when calcium and magnesium are present but takes care of those hardeners at the same time, causing it to move a little slower. Less expensive than the SIR 300, it is suitable for applications where speed is not of the utmost importance. This resin exhibits a water retention range of 45-49%, and a total exchange capacity of 42.6kg/ft3. Its maximum operating temperature is 280°F.
