Hauzer Techno Coating will be exhibiting examples of its various coating techniques at booth 1017 at the SUR/FIN show. Their coating capabilities involve the use of physical vapor deposition (PVD) or plasma-assisted chemical vapor deposition (PACVD) processes. Coating materials used vary depending on the application. For example, materials used for decorative applications include ZrN, CrN, TiAIN, Au and gold flash while those used for cutting tools include TiN, TiAIN, TiCN, TiAIYN (hard coating) and TiAIN/W-C: H, TiAIN/MoS2 (soft coating). Hauzer also has customers in the automotive, forming tool, and machinery industries. In all cases, depending on the application, coating thicknesses range from 0.1 to 50 µm.

The company uses PVD and PACVD because they have found these techniques provide an attractive and scratch-resistant color finish, reduced coefficient of friction, and reduced wear. In addition, these processes are capable of providing special engineering properties, such as EMI shielding, if needed. The company also offers etching and deposition services.
