SPSS Data Entry 2.0 software contains information that everyone from beginners to advanced users need in order to create professional surveys that encourage complete responses. According to the manufacturer, new features such as drag-and-drop survey design and dynamic renumbering make survey creation fast and easy.

The software has the tools required to build custom online or paper survey forms, enter data, and check for accuracy through the use of rules. Additionally, the software's ability to create rules such as validation, skip and fill, and checking ensures that data are clean and useful. Once created, questionnaires can be completed on-screen, online in a browser (in conjunction with the company's Data Entry Enterprise Server), or printed out and filled in by hand. Data entered into the firms, labels, and dictionary are immediately ready for analysis using the manufacturer's SPSS Base, their flagship data analysis software.

The software provides extensive documentation, a tutorial and a Question Library to help new users get acclimated to the world of data collection. In addition, for smaller entities, a single copy of the software can be used for the entire data collection process.
