The new "LIMIT" temperature limit controller protects a process or heater from over-temperature conditions, and features characteristics built for both OEMs and users.

The controller provides a control output that can be used to either shut down a process or simply send an alarm when the set point temperature is reached. Its 35-mm DIN Rail mounting allows quick installation without drilling or extra hardware. The device also features flush mounting slots that allow for sub-panel installation behind the door of an enclosure to prevent tampering by unauthorized personnel. With UL recognition and Factory Mutual approval, the controller can be used in almost any plant.

The controller also features easy-to-use controls— it is ready for use once users dial the limit set point. There are five different models available at economical prices accepting inputs from RTDs, plus J and K thermocouples, and covering a temperature range from 0° to 2300°F. Automatic cold junction compensation is included for thermocouple input, and terminals are provided for a remote "Reset" pushbutton. Whenever the sensed temperature exceeds the set point limit, a SPDT latching, manually resettable relay with contacts rated 3.8 A at 120 VAC will de-energize to provide a control output. The two input power options are 24 and 120 VAC.
