Thyssen Production Systems Names Steve Peterson as President of Giddings & Lewis
Thyssen Production Systems (TPS) announced that effective immediately, as a further step in the integration process, Steve Peterson has been appointed to the position of President of Giddings & Lewis LLC, and Marvin Isles, Chairman and CEO is leaving the company.
Alfred Wern, CEO of TPS stated, "Steve Peterson's in-depth knowledge of the machine tool industry, customers and products makes him the ideal choice to take Giddings & Lewis forward in the new millennium. Steve has demonstrated a keen grasp of lean manufacturing principles in his assignment at Fadal, along with a hands on management style that will be invaluable in our efforts to become more competitive particularly in the Machine Tool business in Fond du Lac."
Steve and his wife Karla are both natives of Fond du Lac. For the past 5 years they have been residing in Augora Hills, Calif., during Steve's assignment as Group Vice President and General Manager of Fadal, the worlds leading manufacturer of vertical machining centers. They will be relocating to Fond du Lac in the near future.
Marvin Isles, former Chairman and CEO of Giddings & Lewis stated, "I am delighted with Steve's appointment, he has my strong endorsement. In fact, he was my recommendation. With Steve's appointment, this completes my work in guiding the transition of Giddings & Lewis from a publicly held company to divisions integrated into the TPS structure."
