ZEISS DuraVision Plus – New Coating Portfolio For Clear And Hassle-Free Vision

  • Lens portfolio includes top-performing ZEISS CleanGuard coating technology
  • Leveling up the entire ZEISS DuraVision coating portfolio
  • With ZEISS CleanGuard, notably improved lens clarity, cleanability and durability

Maintaining clear vision at all times is the number one priority for lens wearers.1 With the launch of ZEISS DuraVision Plus, maintaining crystal-clear vision has never been easier.2 Beginning in April 2026, the new ZEISS DuraVision Plus coating portfolio will replace current ZEISS DuraVision products. All ZEISS DuraVision Plus coatings will come standard with ZEISS CleanGuard, a technology that makes lenses up to three times faster to clean3.

Leveling up the entire ZEISS DuraVision coating portfolio
With the launch of ZEISS DuraVision Plus, ZEISS is enhancing its entire range of lens coatings thanks to the integration of the innovative ZEISS CleanGuard technology. Volker Gahr, Senior Product Manager with ZEISS Vision Care highlights, “ZEISS’ CleanGuard technology promises eye care professionals and their customers a new level of satisfaction: the new ZEISS DuraVision Plus coatings have shown in a wearer trial that their premium lens properties such as clarity and cleanability are extremely durable, built for long-life performance.”4

With ZEISS CleanGuard, notably improved clarity, cleanability and durability
A key feature of the ZEISS DuraVision Plus portfolio is the integration of ZEISS CleanGuard across all coating types. With this technology, keeping lenses clean and restoring clear vision quickly becomes easier. Based on consumer research among users who have tried and tested ZEISS CleanGuard:

  • 95% agree that lenses with ZEISS CleanGuard technology are more water-repellent5,6
  • 93% report that fingerprints are easier to remove from lenses with ZEISS CleanGuard technology4,5
  • 93% found lenses with ZEISS CleanGuard Technology easier to clean compared to the premium coatings previously available from ZEISS6
  • 91% think lenses with ZEISS CleanGuard technology are more smudge-resistant5,6

With ZEISS CleanGuard technology, contact angles for water and oil-like substances could be increased significantly. The science behind this is an advanced molecular structure that notably reduces lens surface energy to an exceptionally low level, making it harder for water, grease and other substances to even stick to the lens surface itself. Additionally, a patented anti-static layer repels dust and dirt. “The benefit is significantly improved smudge resistance, making it easier and faster to remove smears and smudges. This is an improvement that 90% of consumers have also noticed and appreciated,” explains Volker Gahr.6

Exceptional durability is a further key property of ZEISS CleanGuard lenses: In a real-life wearer trial, the lenses kept their hydrophobic properties for a long time. Accordingly, 95% of the wearers that initially rated lenses with CleanGuard technology “very good /good” when asked about how easy they were to clean, still had the same opinion after 14 months of wear.7
